This very nice man was kind enough to allow me to photograph him today at the University of Washington Red Square. He comes to the university everyday with his signs and talks about his beliefs with anyone who wants to engage with him. He is exceedingly sunny and polite, doesn’t yell, preach, or holler. His faith is strong and so he doesn’t need to cover for it with verbosity. He’s exactly the kind of activist I can get along with. He doesn’t force his beliefs on you, he doesn’t try to disrupt your day, and best of all he doesn’t tell you you’re going to hell. Simply put he allows the word to speak for itself.

I’m not religious. He is. I respected that and he respected me. Human decency goes a long way when its applied. His favorite book is the Fourth Gospel, The Gospel According to John.

“There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him. He himself was not the light, but he came to testify to the light. The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming to the world.” John 1.6-1.9

    • Thanks for the kind words. I hope you check in often. I’m big on free speech especially when its exercised respectfully. You’ve got a really sweet blog yourself.
