the space between two worlds

On February 26, 2010 Japanese hip-hop producer and DJ Nujabes passed away after being involved in a traffic accident. His music was bliss with a relaxed, down-tempo vibe, simple layers, and addictive beats. He founded Hydeout Productions and released several albums through that outfit. He also produced all the music to the anime series Samurai Champloo which was unique in its mix of samurai culture/context with hip-hop music and contemporary attitudes. I’ve been listening to his music for years and he’s been quite popular with my ipod lately as a I make my way back through his discography. Nujabes may be gone but his music will live eternal here in the space between two worlds. Give his work a spin, trust me it’s worth it.
